RARE Taft-Sherman "Elephant Ears" sells for $6,216.00 on Anderson Auctions

One of the most sought after political pins sells for $6,216.00 on Anderson Americana.

One of the greatest pins in political campaigning history – the legendary Taft-Sherman Elephant Ears. No great collection is complete without one of these. Taft and Sherman teamed up in 1908 when this pin was made to keep the Republican elephant in the White House. This 1 1/4 inch celluloid has a Whitehead and Hoag back paper and is in excellent condition. Few pins can match the Elephant Ears for its design and rarity. It is simply a spectacular piece of history.
