Rare Alfred E. Smith Campaign Button sells for $712.13

A rare and unusual 1928 Alfred E. Smith Campaign Button sold for $712.13 on Ebay seen here: http://tinyurl.com/24rauaa. It was seldom seen and desirable large Smith presidential pinback. Known in private and public life as Al Smith, was an American politician who was elected the 42nd Governor of New York four times, and was the Democratic U.S. presidential candidate in 1928. He was the first Roman Catholic to run for President as a major party nominee. He lost the election to Herbert Hoover. He then became president of the Empire State, Inc. and was instrumental in getting the Empire State Building built at the onset of the Great Depression.

  1. Is there any interest in a 78 RPM record by Willie Walker and His Gang on the Pathe label from 1928? The songs are "He's Our Al" & The Sidewalks Of New York (East Side, West Side All Around The Town)." Both song are about or mention Al Smith.
